Masonry paint might look fresh for a few years, but it seals the wall and stops it breathing. Trapped moisture leads to damp, blown render and spalled brick. Stripping it back is the long-term fix.
We use specialist poultice systems and steam to lift paint from the surface without aggressive abrasion, protecting the brick face. Once stripped, we can repoint and clean to finish the transformation.

Once paint is removed and the wall can breathe again, damp problems often ease on their own and the brick is far less likely to spall in frost. Exposed, repointed brickwork is also effectively maintenance-free - no repainting every few years.
We finish most paint-removal projects with fresh repointing and a gentle clean, so you are left with a wall that looks original rather than ‘stripped’. We will always show you a test patch first so you know exactly what is under the paint.

In most cases, yes. Poultice systems draw the paint out of the surface rather than blasting it off, which protects the brick. We test first so you can see the finish before committing.
